Control over the labour factor

Issue

Labour costs, making up 60% to 80% of the directly controllable costs, prove hard to get in line with the revenue model and strategic development. This means it can be difficult to attract the right capacities and competencies. How can the Supervisory Board gain the insight needed to effectively supervise the risks and opportunities of the labour factor?

Our approach

Focus Orange cooperates with management and supervisors in order to make the human resources strategy measurable and to quantitatively assess whether it meets the principles of the company strategy. To that end:

  • We analyse the implications on personnel due to the business strategy and test whether the personnel strategy addresses those implications;
  • From the personnel strategy we set concrete and measurable organisation and HR targets;
  • We prioritize these targets based on the organisation strategy;
  • We support the Supervisory Board with regular reports and on behalf of them we support the managing board of the organisation in the implementation.

Result

The supervisors control the labour factor by having direct insight into the way the organisation preventively addresses risks and turns the deployment of its employees into a competitive advantage.
